Apylon is building the intelligent revenue management platform for European healthcare. Billions of euros flow between hospitals and insurers through fragmented, manual workflows — a maze of rules, conditions and requirements.

As a Medical Biller for Germany, you’ll help us localize our Revenue Management Engine for the German market — teaching our AI agents how German billing works, acting as human-in-the-loop for automation, and building our knowledge base of local coding and billing standards.

Delivering healthcare is hard. Getting paid for it shouldn’t be.

You’ll be responsible for

• Optimizing our engine’s understanding of German billing rules (GOÄ, EBM, DRG) and payer requirements.
• Acting as human-in-the-loop for our billing agents — reviewing, approving, and correcting automated decisions.
• Building and maintaining our knowledge base of German healthcare billing standards.
• Serving as final approval for automated billing workflows.
• Training and improving our AI agents through feedback and corrections.
• Collaborating with product and engineering to shape our automation tools.

Who you are

• 2+ years of experience in medical billing in the German healthcare system.
• Strong knowledge of German healthcare billing codes (GOÄ, EBM, DRG) and payer requirements.
• Fluent in German and English.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Comfortable working with billing software and eager to learn new tools.
• A problem-solver who takes ownership and follows through.
• You thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt quickly to change.

Bonus points

• Experience with private hospital billing in Germany.
• Familiarity with both PKV (private) and GKV (statutory) insurance claim processing.
• Experience working in a startup or fast-growing company.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing in other European countries.
